Position summary
The role of the Account Manager is to manage the social and digital operations of 4-6 clients within the WalktheChat portfolio.
We pride ourselves in bringing real results to our clients (sales) instead of focusing on vanity metrics (exposure, views, etc.) as many other agencies. The Account Manager has the challenging task of delivering these results by strategizing and coordinating the work of other WalktheChat teams (copywriting, design, customer service, influencer marketing, advertising, IT).
Account Manager Performance Objectives
- General target: launch and expand the China sales of 4 to 6 clients in the WalktheChat portfolio.
- Client strategy definition: define and adjust the strategy of the client on the Chinese market based on the client’s current presence in China, past performance, and on the evolution of Chinese digital channels. During the first 2 weeks after onboarding, conduct a detailed analysis of current clients’ performance and strategy, and provide a plan including innovative ideas of sales channels or tactics to improve client’s sales.
- Monthly client reporting: write and present monthly reports to the client detailing all actions taken and results achieved during the previous month. Include a detailed action plan for the upcoming 1 to 3 months.
- Interpersonal skills: build a friendly relationship with all clients within the Account Manager’s portfolio. Create a trust relationship so that clients feel comfortable expressing concerns or issues.
- Influencer campaign management: work with WalktheChat’s influencer-selection team to select influencers for clients’ campaigns. Achieve between 200% to 300% average return-on-investment on sales campaigns.
- Copywriting management: coordinate copywriters work to create WeChat / Weibo / Little Red Book content in line with the client’s brand image and objectives.
- Design management: assess client expectations in terms of design. Manage the design team to release new creatives during store launch or seasonal store refresh. Ensure store launch within 4 weeks of each new client onboarding.
- Advertising management: manage the collaboration with 3rd party advertising agencies to run programmatic advertising for WalktheChat’s clients. Review targeting and creatives used for digital advertising. Benchmark the output of different advertising agencies to improve the client’s performance.
- Customer service supervision: supervise the work of the customer service team to ensure maximum service quality and continuous improvement. Keep track of response times and reasons for customer requests.
- Collaboration with IT team: communicate with the IT team and product management team about bugs and feature requests gathered from the client. Provide suggestions to improve collaboration between operations and IT teams.
- Services upsell: upsell additional services (campaigns, new platforms, more advanced content support, etc.) as the client’s needs expand in the Chinese market.
Language requirements
- Native Chinese speaker.
- Outstanding level of spoken and written English.
